Best Buddies
Best Buddies is a non-profit program that provides the opportunity for intellectually disabled people to form personal friendships. The organization is now active in more than 1,300 middle schools, high schools and colleges in the country and internationally, where students can spend time engaging in different activities with their buddies. Best Buddies was founded by Anthony Kennedy Shriver in 1989, and since then it has grown significantly; this year, more than 350,000 people will participate in the program, enriching their own lives as well as another's.
