Common Cause Education Fund
The Common Cause Education Fund is the public education and research affiliate of the lobbying organization Common Cause, which seeks to strengthen public participation in government and to protect civil rights and liberties of Americans. Working with Common Cause, CCEF funds research, education and outreach activities with funds from tax-deductible donations and grants. The group was established by Republican John Gardner, former Secretary of Health, Education and Welfare under President Lyndon Johnson, who noticed that in Washington "everybody's organized but the people."
