Direct Relief International
From its base in Santa Barbara, Calif., Direct Relief International distributes medical assistance for people in rural areas who are poor and lack adequate health care. Supplies are provided regardless of the political, religious or ethnic identity of the people served. The organization also holds annual "investors" meetings for anyone who has contributed money, material or time to let them see how their investment was spent.
