Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation
The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation was created in 2000 with the stated goal of helping to reduce inequities in the world and solve some of the greatest problems. The foundation awards grants for programs to reduce extreme poverty around the world and to help high school graduation rates in the U.S., among other things. In deciding how to invest its resources, the Gates foundation also looks for projects that emphasize preventative approaches, produce measurable results and catalyze increased momentum, scale, and sustainability of change.
