United Way of America
Since 1887, the United Way of America has been helping people help themselves. The mission of the United Way is to "increase the organized capacity of people to care for one another." Through a network of 1,900 community groups, the United Way offers disaster relief, emergency food and shelter, crisis intervention, day care, physical rehabilitation and youth development. The Early Childhood: Success by 6 is only one example of the good works of this organization.
